I just submitted a poem about a retired man to a teen magazine… maybe different isn’t what I should be aiming for.
This may explain my lack of publishing success.

Update: I finally got a generic rejection letter. I don’t think they understood the depth of my originality! I mean, sending a poem about the disillusionment of retirement to a teen magazine, who’s done that before?
